Weddings, Weddings, Everywhere
We recently attended our one millionth wedding this year (well it feels like it).
Our good friends Brad and Lindsey just got married, finally! They decided to do a remote location wedding in Florida. We had a blast. It was a nice little vacation away from California. We got to catch up with friends and just hang out.
The weather on the wedding day was great. The rain never showed up. Everyone looked great. I didn't really care for the Red Tide too much. But, everything went great. Best of luck to you Brad and Lindsey!
Shawn's Parents
We had the folks come out last week to Santa Monica. It was great to see my parents again. They got a great tour of the area while Brooke and I were working.
We went to the San Diego zoo all day on Saturday. That is a BIG zoo. We got a lot of great pictures (which will be up soon).
One of the most fun things we did was going to "The Ice House". It was its 45th year so we got eleven comics instead of just the usual three. After six days my parents were sick of us and left. Brooke and I left the same day to fly out to Fort Myers (see later posts).
Famous People 1
Hey Ya'll!!! well working at a high end restaurant really pays off :) I have seen BOB sagget(spelling??) I mean Danny Tanner from Full House, only the best show from my childhood and then this past week I talked to and lead Tory Spelling ( from 90201 if you dont know) to her seat with her guests. CRAZY!! The funniest part about it is that I didnt even know it was her, hahaha. Anyways, I do have some great new, I got a social work job!!! I have accepted a job at the Jewish Home for the Aging. I will pretty much have my own building and work with the residents, their families, and the nurses in the building. The funny thing is that I also had another interview today at St. Anns Maternity Home. We will see how that turns out. Unfortunatly, they are both about an half an hour away from here. So the beetle will be getting used :)
Shawn and I have been enjoying our time out here especially all the people that go to our church. we continually are meeting new people!! and our small group just keeps growing and growing. This last weekend we went to a birthday party for Jaelin. She is a little girl of a couple in our small group, she is so cute and she just turned 1!! (postings of the pictures later)
Thanks for all the postings everyone!! we love reading your comments. we love you all and miss you all!!
Potholes in Cali
On the news today, I saw a report on the pothole problems in the area. I could not stop from laughing. The little bumps they called potholes barely made the road appear rough. Whereas we all know that Michigan potholes are known for swallowing Geo Metros without a trace.
Just a thought.
Yay birthday
Thanks again to all who sent me a birthday card or gave me a call on my birthday. Overall birthday number 22 went well. I had a great birthday lunch at a fancy steak place, sponsored by Symantec. Brooke and I just went to the Daily Grill for a bite to eat. Brooke got me season six of the simpsons, which is frickin awesome! We planned on doing something on Saturday.
On Saturday we went to The Ice House, a local comedy club. We had a great meal, sponsored by co-worker Chad. We had great seats in the front row where one of the comedians made fun of my girly drink. A comedian even sang to Brooke for a minute.
All in all, I would do it the same.
Work work work 1
So basically work has been taking up a lot of my time lately. I am looking at possibly taking an internal job position. It would be the exact same job, just a different team. It would be fun, and I will get to do more coding and design work than on my current project.
I am also still trying to work on rEngine in my dwindling spare time, but I have also taken an interest in another open source project called RailFrog (a content management system)
Anywho... off to bed, love you all.
Hiking is for the fish 2
Ouch. I went on my hiking trip today. WOW, am I ever tired. It was a great view and we saw some cool things (pics to come). It was in the mid eighties. The six miles allowed us to see deer, butterflies, and a great view of mountains, hills, and ocean. All in all, I think I will wait for nicer (cooler) weather next time.
Who's out there? 4
I guess this thing is only useful or remotely interesting if we actually post to it on a regular basis. So I ask the question: Who is reading this? If you are reading this, please post a comment and say "hi".
